Wild Bird: This is the largest segment and is showing strong growth, comprised of those who feed native birds primarily in backyard feeders. The main ingredients in these feeds are sunflower seeds and chips, millets, nyger, and cracked grain products. Recent studies by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service estimate 54 million Americans participate in bird feeding and wildlife watching in their own backyards.

Caged Bird: Birds such as finches, canaries, cockatiels, and budgies are fed small seeds such as millets, nyger, and sunflower chips. Parrots are fed larger seeds such as peanuts, whole sunflower seeds and peppers. |
